Liminal was produced as a collaborative publication by a 3rd year design class in 2012. The task was defined by management roles, and in being appointed Art Director, I developed the theme and visual style guide for the magazine. My vision was to produce an engaging, beautiful and interesting publication surrounding the transitory time period leading up to the prophesized end of the world 21.12.2012. It explored religion, science, mathematical predictions, trends, music and technology proposing a great destruction or enlightenment. Along with a 6 page article opening the magazine, I selected the typography, created the grid system, and designed the editorial, contents page, contributors section and thematic article dividers as well as assisting with branding. The magazine was awarded an Australian Design Biennale 2012 Student AGDA Award.
