After a year long research project that looked into the gaps within the transition from study into creative industries, and the current creative sector within Sydney, I launched Kaleido - an independent publication connecting emerging creatives with resources, events and opportunities to collaborate. Kaleido features people, projects and places that facilitate creativity and collaboration across all creative disciplines, and produces experiential events to enhance community engagement and meaningful connection.
Each issue of our biannual printed publication is launched with a bang, bringing the content to life at an experiential event featuring industry speakers, live music, design, art, workshops and more. The last 2 issues on Creativity for Social Change and Mental Health in Creative Industries had record numbers in attendance, and delved into deeper into important issues, responsibilities and inspiration to drive positive change. Alongside the launch events, a supporting program of events and workshops such as film festivals, collage making, immersive experiences, networking nights and ‘Kaleido presents’ collaborations have brought people together to learn, connect and collaborate, to foster strong creative communities.
We believe in:
– using creative skills for positive change
– fostering collaboration and creative communities
– celebrating diversity in the arts
– exchanging skills and sharing knowledge
– accessibility of information and advice
